27th annual Coats for Kids Distribution helped 1000's stay warm!

On Saturday, December 3, 2011 Ziker Cleaners handed out more than 1,500 coats during the culmination of their annual Coats for Kids drive. The charity encourages Michiana residents to donate new or gently used coats for area children. More than 180,000 coats have been donated since the drive began in 1986. The organizers wanted Saturday’s drive to be about giving, sharing with others, and paying it forward in the community.

Rosalind Ellis, director of student services for the South Bend. Community School Corp says, “It's just been really festive today. We're getting ready for the holiday season but more importantly we're making sure every child has a winter coat for the season.”

Every child who left the drive also got a free pair of mittens, a warm hat, and candy canes. More 1000 coats were distributed to the Community School Corporations of Mishawaka, Elkhart and Goshen to help kids in need.

Mishawaka Relay for Life 2011 - Au Revoir to Cancer

Saturday, May 22, 2011, Team Ziker once again walked for 24 hours to raise money for the 2011 American Cancer Society Relay For Life at Mishawaka High School. This year the Ziker Cleaners team raised $2028.00 by securing pledges and selling Yankee Candles prior to the event and providing temporary tattoos and cookies for sale at the event.

A very special thanks goes to Ziker Cleaners Granger Store Manager, Robin Lewis, for once again coordinating Zikers participation in this worthwhile event.
